To commemorate World Lemur Day (Oct 28, 2022), Lemur Love has joined forces with Tanana Madagascar. Tanana Madagascar’s mission is to create beauty while protecting endangered ecosystems. Tanana’s work promotes habitat conservation in forests that lemurs inhabit. 

Tanana’s talented Malagasy artisans have adapted Lemur Love’s “lemuries” and created beautiful and sustainable lemur ornaments, using wild harvested cocoon silk and raffia. These ornaments handmade and limited. Your purchase supports the livelihoods of the artisans (and their families) and conservation of lemurs in their forest homes.

​Proceeds supporting Lemur Love will be used for our December 2022 field expedition to Tsimanampesotse National Park. We aim to purchase a portable veterinary laboratory machine which will help us understand the health of these ring-tailed lemurs and how this may have changed over the last 20 years. Long-term research is essential to understanding the impacts of climate change on lemurs.
